Adopt-an-Object

Are you passionate about preserving history and supporting the arts? The Adopt-an-Object program provides a unique opportunity for museum enthusiasts like you to directly engage in the conservation of pieces within the McClung Museum collections. Adopting an object is a meaningful and distinctive way to connect with the museum and leave a lasting impact.
How Does it Work?

Your donation to the Adopt-an-Object program goes directly towards the conservation efforts of a particular item in our collection. These funds enable the McClung Museum to perform essential work on pieces in the collection, addressing issues such as cleaning, repair, and restoration. Some objects require specialized care, and your contribution makes it possible for us to maintain and enhance their historical and cultural significance.

Conservation in action

A recent Adopt-an-Object campaign enabled the museum to address needed repairs to the painting and frame of Lloyd Branson’s oil painting Tillie McClung. The images show the treatment steps performed by the conservator, including removing surface grime, applying adhesive, and restoring the portrait’s frame.
