1949 – Wool blanket with plain or “basket” weave has a cream-colored warp, with cream, black, and purple bands on either side of a centered eagle holding a snake atop a cactus, the national symbol of Mexico. The eagle and the snake coat of arms represents the power, tension, struggle, and eternal conflict between opposites; it recalls the founding of Mexico City, then called Tenochtitlan. 54 inches long.
