Since the founding of the museum in 1961, gifts and purchases of various objects have added significantly to the collections. In particular, the museum houses strong collections of objects in the following areas: natural history prints, maps, ancient Roman artifacts, American and European decorative arts, travel photography, Native American material culture, local history, and WWI and WWII military material.
