From the McClung Museum: An update about our closure

Director

From Claudio Gomez, McClung Museum’s Jefferson Chapman Executive Director

The McClung Museum continues to follow the guidance put forth by The University of Tennessee to provide the safest environment possible in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

To ensure proper social distancing, the museum will only be open to accommodate classes that are occurring in the auditorium as scheduled by the university’s registrar for the duration of the 2020 Fall Semester. We will remain closed to the general public and other UT classes.

These restrictions are in place because our priority is in making sure that these classes can occur safely. In the interim, museum staff will continue to serve our university and other communities through online and outreach-based engagement, ongoing research, and collections care.  We will also use this semester as a trial period to learn more about how to safely open our doors to the public in the near future.

For more information please continue to visit our website and social media profiles. We appreciate your on-going support and look forward to seeing you in person soon.
