The McClung Museum and its staff are mourning alongside our African American colleagues, students, and community members, and we support the struggle for justice in the most recent killings of Black individuals–George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and far too many others.
As a museum, we strive to confront our painful histories, so we can learn from them and serve as a place for discourse. We do so to help enact change and promote healing in a society that is still deeply racist. We pledge to continue this work through our educational efforts and research.
Today, though, we are here to listen to our community. #BlackLivesMatter #MuseumsAreNotNeutral
