Grease bowl, 1887, Tlingit culture, Ft. Wrangell, Alaska, Wood, 5 inches high, Gift of Duncan White, 1940.6.4. The carved and painted wooden grease bowl depicts a head, probably a bear, at each end. The eyes, nose, tongue, and mouth are carved, while other features and design are in black and red paint.
