Glazed Pitcher, 1899-1909, Villeroy & Boch, earthenware, 5 inches high, Nella Moss, 1936.4.384.

Ovoid pitcher with a flared, ridged base, angular handle and prominent sparrow beak spout, decorated with a decal of green clovers. According to tradition, the four-leaf clover will bring good luck to their finders, especially if found accidentally. The leaves of four-leaf clovers are said to stand for faith, hope, love, and luck.
