Peacock Feather Brise Fan, c. 1890-1917, feather and plastic, 30 inches wide, Charles Larew, 1960.10.2.

A brise fan of nineteen peacock tail feather and a white plastic handle with two white tassels. This fan belonged to Sarah Bernhardt, the legendary French stage and early screen actress, and was purchased by a relation of the donor when he was stationed in Paris during World War I.
