Oxshoes

Oxshoe – Knoxville, TN; 19th century – These shoes were made and sold by C.M. McClung and Co. Length = 10.8 cm. Oxen have a split hoof and thus wear two shoes on each foot. Like horseshoes, oxshoes improve traction and protect hooves from injury and wear.
