The almost 200 eclipse glasses sold through the McClung Museum Store have been recalled. If you have purchased your glasses from the Museum Store, please return them to us for a refund. Note we are not selling any new glasses. Though the museum’s glasses were guaranteed CE and ISO tested and safe solar viewing by the manufacturer, they are part of the massive Amazon recall that took place less than a week before the eclipse.
We apologize for any inconvenience––please call us at 865-974-2144 with any questions. The museum refers customers and supporters to the National Science Foundation/American Astronomical Society website for approved sellers of eclipse glasses.
The store carries a wide selection of unique items, including local art, jewelry, books, one-of-a-kind gift items, stationery, and educational toys, including items that pertain to our current exhibits. The museum is proud to work with and support local artists. Proceeds from all purchases support the museum’s ongoing educational programs.
The store is a member of the Museum Store Association, and only makes purchases from vendors who guarantee items are ethical and meet high quality standards.
University of Tennessee students and museum members receive a 10 percent discount in the store.
The museum has a variety of publications written by our curators and researchers, as well as some exhibition catalogues for sale. Please visit Museum Publications for Sale for publication and order information.
