Lustre Vase

Lustre Vase

Lustre Vase, c. 1913-1915, Porcelain, 11.25 inches high, Bequest of Frederick Bonham, 1958.5.169.

Produced by England’s famed Wedgwood pottery company, this trumpet-shaped vase is decorated with fish, marine plants, and seashells. The thin overglaze of metallic oxides that lends the vase its iridescent appearance also made lustreware expensive to produce and purchase.
